Cooling

Coolant distribution units

A CDU is pumps plus a heat exchanger. In-rack units serve one cabinet, in-row units a few, facility-scale units a hall. Liquid-to-liquid needs building pipework and performs best; liquid-to-air is self-contained and weaker. Capacity depends on flow and on approach temperature: the closer the two loops must run, the less one unit can carry.
