Heat reuse
Return water at 45 to 65 deg C can pre-heat buildings, pools or processes directly. District heating usually wants 60 to 90 deg C, which takes a heat pump. Germany's Energy Efficiency Act is the sharpest rule in Europe: new data centres from July 2026 must reuse a rising share of their energy.
